AstraZeneca vaccine: Most Australian recipients report some kind of reaction

About three out of four Australian recipients of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine have experienced at least one adverse event, most commonly fatigue or headaches, new data show.
In addition, some 2.4% of the first 4000 recipients sought medical advice after getting their first dose of the adenovirus vector vaccine, the surveillance reveals.
The release of the first detailed safety information on Australia’s rollout of the vaccine comes as Europe grapples with concern over its links to thrombosis, with a review failing to rule out an increased risk of two rare clotting events.
AstraZeneca’s vaccine will be delivered in GP clinics to older patients and those with certain underlying medical conditions from Monday.
