AusDoc’s 40th birthday competition: Tell us about your most memorable day as a doctor
Later this year, AusDoc marks its 40th birthday.
It is a little unreal to us — when our first issue ran, it was the days of Bob Hawke and AC/DC. For some of our staff, it is not even a dim memory but history.
To celebrate, we want to do something different.
Not to recapitulate the main events but to capture the differences you, our valued readers, have made to your patients, your family, your friends and the strangers around you.
We are asking you to submit a story (below) describing one of your more memorable days as a doctor.
There is one condition: it should relate to a day between 1984, when AusDoc was first published, and now.
The story can be long or short, about a big or small thing, happy or sad.
We want to illustrate the wonderful diversity of your lives and experiences over the past 40 years.
A $500 gift voucher is on offer for the best one.
