A new rapid and low-cost COVID-19 test has been developed by an Australian company with the breakthrough expected to be used worldwide.

The EuGeni COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test captures both nasal pharyngeal and saliva samples, and gives doctors results at the point of care.

It is a single-use, disposable immunochromatographic test that identifies and detects antigen-antibody immune reactions.

The 15-minute test came about as part of the company AnteoTech’s investigation into tests for sepsis, they simply used the same technology to develop an antigen test for COVID-19.
