Aussie doctor calls for guidance on COVID-19 vaccine in pregnancy

A leading Melbourne obstetrician says official safety guidance on the use of COVID-19 vaccines for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding is urgently needed in Australia.
With the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine rollout just weeks away, healthcare and front-line workers will be among the first to be offered the COVID-19 vaccine.
But Dr Nisha Khot says there’s been little official guidance about whether women who are pregnant or of childbearing age should have the vaccine.
The Melbourne obstetrician says her patients are already asking her for advice about whether to have a vaccine when it becomes available.
