Australian Prescriber saved after new publisher signs $4.9m contract

Health officials have entrusted Therapeutic Guidelines with the Australian Prescriber journal following the closure of former publisher NPS MedicineWise.
The Federal Government axed $25 million in annual funding for NPS MedicineWise last year, causing the independent charity to shut its doors in December and leaving Australian Prescriber in limbo.
Now, tender documents show that Therapeutic Guidelines has received a $4.9 million, three-year contract for the provision of the journal.
Under its new publisher, the journal will remain free of pharmaceutical advertising.
