Banned doctor alleged to have infected patient with hep B while working under alias

A banned doctor has been accused of infecting a patient with hepatitis B after continuing to work at a Sydney cosmetic clinic under a different name.
Evidence collected during a 26 August raid at the clinic suggested Tommy Jodlovich had been carrying out medical procedures under the alias of Dr Baz Demeza, said the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC).
Mr Jodlovich, whose registration was cancelled in 2021, had been using IV-administered botulinum toxin; hyaluronic acid, which can only be provided by a registered health practitioner; and anaesthetics at the Smooth as Silk Laser and Cosmetic Clinic, the watchdog alleged.
Many of the medications were expired, and Mr Jodlovich had been posing as a medical practitioner during online telehealth medical consultations, it claimed.
