‘Batsh*t crazy stuff’: MP says antivaxxers are winning PR war

A new advertising campaign needs to 'crowd out' misinformation, says Julian Hill

The absence of a compelling national COVID-19 vaccine advertising campaign is allowing “batshit crazy stuff” to flood social media, a federal MP is warning.

Julian Hill has written to Minister for Health Greg Hunt after being bombarded with antivax comments after he posted a photo of himself being vaccinated on Facebook.

Many of the comments were graphics printed with the TGA or Department of Health logo, some claiming that 200 Australians had been killed by COVID-19 vaccines.

Mr Hill says a new public health campaign is needed to “crowd out” the misinformation.
