Big Brother will be watching: The RACGP’s ‘in your own home’ fellowship exam

However it is hoped that taking the exams at home will be less stressful for candidates, says RACGP education manager Dr Genevieve Yates
Geir O'Rourke

The 1,300 registrars sitting the RACGP’s make-or-break written fellowship exams next month will endure an experience unlike any before.

As a result of the COVID-19 restrictions, exam halls and testing centres are out. So are invigilators pacing the aisles to ensure all is correct and above board.

Instead registrars will be sitting alone in a room — most likely in their own home — under scrutiny of a webcam.

These images are to be beamed back to a team of college proctors who will be on the lookout for signs of outside help, perhaps from a hidden note or an associate lurking outside the room.
