Marcus Blackmore, the multimillionaire boss of the vitamins and supplement giant, says he is joining integrative medicine GPs in a fight against the Medical Board of Australia’s plan to crack down on fringe practitioners.

The board wants to create new guidelines for doctors offering alternative treatments, saying it’s necessary to protect patients against financial exploitation and unnecessary treatments, such as long-term antibiotics for Lyme-like illness and stem-cell therapies for arthritis.
