Breast screenings resume amid easing of coronavirus restrictions

Australia’s breast screening program is restarting as part of the Government’s decision to gradually resume elective procedures after Anzac Day.
Routine screening was shelved across Australia last month to protect patients and doctors from COVID-19.
But on Tuesday, the Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the elective procedures being restarted would include “all screening programs, where they have ceased”.
A spokesperson for the Federal Department of Health said it was down to state and territory governments to decide exactly when screening would start again.
