Bulk-billing already increasing thanks to tripled incentives, says major corporate
The government claims that GPs 'in every state and territory' are bulk-billing more because of the policy.
The tripling of bulk-billing incentives on 1 November has already improved bulk-billing rates at some GP practices, claims GP corporate ForHealth.
The company issued a joint statement with the Minister for Health and Aged Care to say that 20 of its practices that previously had the lowest bulk-billing rates were now bulk-billing more.
Bulk-billing at these practices went from 67% of patients in September to 71% in November, the company said.
It added that bulk-billing at one practice in south Sydney had gone from half of patients to two-thirds of patients.
