Mark Butler still deciding on how to distribute 12.5% bulk-billing incentive payment

The Health Minister says that consultations with the sector are ongoing.

The Minister for Health and Ageing will finalise whether the government’s 12.5% bulk-billing incentive payment will go to doctors or practices “over the coming weeks”.

The loading payment for practices that universally bulk-bill was announced alongside the Federal Government’s pledge to extend tripled bulk-billing incentives to all patients from 1 November.

But it remains unclear whether the incentive payment will go to practices or GPs.

On the ABC’s 7.30 program on Monday night, Mark Butler said consultations with the sector were ongoing.
