Can mindfulness really reduce GP burnout?

Mindfulness training designed for doctors significantly reduces burnout while boosting resilience among GP trainees, a UK study shows.
All measures of stress and burnout improved among the GP trainees after they finished the six-week course, the researchers found.
“Almost all of those who did participate, completed it successfully and experienced positive personal gains,” according to the authors.
‘Compared to pre-course levels, there was statistically significant improvement in outcome measure scores in specific areas of resilience, mindfulness, stress and burnout,” they wrote.
