A reassuring case report suggests doctors can be protected from coronavirus through the use of surgical masks, hand hygiene and other standard infection-control measures.

Clinicians from the Changi General Hospital in Singapore tracked 41 healthcare workers exposed to aerosol-generating procedures while treating a patient not yet diagnosed with COVID-19.

All  tested negative for SARS-CoV-2.

None of the exposed healthcare workers developed symptoms, and all of their nasopharyngeal swab tests were negative, they report in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
