Celebrity surgeon Adjunct Clinical Professor Munjed Al Muderis has denied abandoning patients who have experienced wounds and infections following his radical orthopaedic surgery.

The orthopeadic surgeon fled Iraq in 1999 after Saddam Hussein’s regime tried to force him to maim army deserters.

He spent 10 months in immigration detention before he was granted asylum in Australia.

Since then, he has pioneered a new generation of implanted prosthetic limbs, using a technique called osseointegration, which involved inserting a titanium bolt into the bone to make a prosthesis more responsive and longer-lasting than traditional techniques.
