Celebrity Chinese medicine practitioner banned over ‘liquid herb diet’ treatment

A Chinese medical practitioner has been banned for three years over his treatment of a patient with cardiac issues who followed his liquid herb diet.

Shuquan Liu’s 101 Wellbeing Program was reportedly used by former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to shed 14kg and TV host Eddie McGuire.

It involved patients consuming liquid herbs “rich in nutrients”, with little or no food, a tribunal has heard.

A 41-year-old patient lost about 14kg while on the diet in 2016, according to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
