Chief Health Officer under police guard after death threats
Queensland’s Chief Health Officer has police stationed outside her house after receiving death threats for her decisions in the state’s policies on quarantine.
Dr Jeannette Young has faced an onslaught of personal attacks from online trolls in recent days.
She is being blamed for a Canberra nurse, put in quarantine after travelling to the state, being stopped from attending her father’s funeral because of the COVID-19 transmission risk.
And she was also attacked after a terminally ill father-of-four was initially told by state officials to chose one of his children to say goodbye to him on his deathbed.
