Clinical trials registry hit by cyber security breach

The ANZCTR website has been taken offline after the 24 February attack.

Researchers are unable to register new trials or alter details on the national clinical trial registry website after a cyber attack on the site.

The Australian and New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry (ANZCTR) website has been temporarily deactivated since 28 February following the cyber security breach.

Hosted by the University of Sydney, the website is a database of clinical trials, outlining trial objectives, protocols and contact details of primary investigators and funders.

The registry does not host participant data, and the university said no patient details had been compromised.
