Patients fearing chilly weather will bring on arthritic pain have got it wrong, according to UK researchers, who say temperature is one weather factor that does not impact on pain.

Instead three factors — relative humidity, wind speed and air pressure — are linked with pain, reveals the research, carried out by citizen scientists in the UK.

University of Manchester researchers asked more than 2600 people with a chronic pain condition, including arthritis, migraine and fibromyalgia, to report their pain every day for up to six months.
