Companies that spruik online weight loss drug prescriptions in TGA’s sights

Websites advertising prescriptions for weight loss drugs via an online quiz are on the TGA’s radar for advertising medications through social media and online ads.
The watchdog on Tuesday stopped short of confirming it was investigating the legality of Australian-based websites like Juniper and Mosh advertising.
But it said the companies who advertise their services online “raised a number of considerations” in relation to whether the material directly or indirectly promotes the use of therapeutic goods.
Juniper advertises a “new daily medication” that will “overhaul hunger hormones” for “just $13 a day”.
