Corporate wins $574,000 case against injured GP who wanted to work from homeÂ

The Federal Court has ordered a GP who launched discrimination proceedings against a corporate for not letting him work from home because of concerns over patient privacy to pay $574,000 for breaching his contract.
The Melbourne GP was 18 months into a six-year contract he had signed with Cornerstone Health.
The contract included $800,000 in upfront payments in addition to Medicare billings.
In 2020, the GP developed avascular necrosis of the talus and was told by an orthopaedic surgeon not to bear weight on the leg for 6-8 weeks.
