Correction: Heart health assessment rebates

Earlier this month, Australian Doctor ran an article titled “Govt fixes GP heart health rebate bungle”, which reported the patient rebates for MBS items 699 and 177 were set to rise from 1 November.
This story was incorrect and the rebates for both items will in fact remain the same.
The items were introduced in April to fund so-called heart health assessments by GPs based on absolute CV risk assessments.
Item 699 for VR GPs has a patient rebate of $73.95, paying 85% of its schedule fee of $86.95.
