Most registrars are stressed about the level of cash required to get through specialist training, including 51% of GP trainees, the Medical Board of Australia’s annual training survey has found.
Asked for the first time whether the costs of their college’s training program caused them stress, 62% of registrars agreed or strongly agreed.
Some 16% said costs had derailed their training progress.
More than 10,000 doctors responded to the questions.
