Continuing medical education for GPs may take on a global flavour under an informal agreement struck between the RACGP and several overseas medical colleges.

Leaders of seven GP colleges and associations met across multiple time zones at a Zoom roundtable on Wednesday, held as part of the college’s virtual GP20 conference.

Participants agreed to explore forming an international alliance to advance GP education and strengthen primary care worldwide, the RACGP said in a statement.

In total 19 attended the Zoom meeting, including representatives from colleges and GP associations from Canada, the UK, Singapore, Fiji, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, as well as Australia’s deputy Chief Medical Officer Professor Michael Kidd.
