COVID-19 causes hellish insomnia and ‘voices of wolves’: case

The patient's sleep pattern devolved to the point she was only getting 30-120 minutes each night
Insomnia

A bout of COVID-19 left a pharmacist with such severe insomnia that she was unable to sleep beyond two hours per day, her clinicians report.

The 41-year-old from Jordan contracted COVID-19 in November 2020 and was treated with oxygen therapy at home for two months after a chest X-ray showed bilateral infiltrates.

Her infection began with a severe headache, with a burning sensation in the occipital region radiating to the frontal area, which was worse on the right side.

The mother of four also reported severe pain along her spine and auditory hallucinations of “voices of wolves” for three weeks.
