COVID-19 vax no longer routinely recommended in kids

But those aged 5-17 and with severe immunocompromise 'can consider' a vaccine dose every 12 months, per ATAGI advice.

Healthy children and teenagers no longer need a primary course of COVID-19 vaccines or further boosters under the latest ATAGI advice.

The update clarifies time frames for ongoing boosters in adults and children and comes six months after the last ATAGI advisory in September last year.

Adults aged 75 and over are recommended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine every six months regardless of whether they have severe immunocompromise (see table).

Those aged 65-74 and all severely immunocompromised adults are recommended to receive an annual vaccine but “can consider” a booster dose every six months.
