COVID-19 hits crisis level in the NT

With per-capita hospitalisation rates double what NSW saw in its peak, there are fears about the ability of the Territory health system to cope.

The NT Government is facing calls to urgently address its high rates of COVID-19 infection and hospitalisation amid claims it has been complacent about the spread of the virus.   

The Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance NT has taken aim at the government’s “overly optimistic assurances” that it has COVID-19 under control, pointing out that the Territory has the country’s highest rate of hospitalisations per capita.
