D-day has arrived! The short and curlies of GPs’ new 60-day dispensing powers

GPs can now exercise their new superpowers to reduce pharmacy dispensing fee income much to the guild's dismay.

If you were to believe the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, GPs now have pharmacy owners by the short and curlies. 

An interesting and unexpected turnaround, of course, given the guild’s leadership has not spent much time over the past few years making friends with GPs. 

But it comes down to the arrival today of new superpowers to reduce pharmacy dispensing fee income, with GPs now able to write 60-day scripts for a range of common medications, including dabigatran, simvastatin and trandolapril.
