The NRL will review its policy on heat exhaustion after a coroner found that a Manly player died following an “inappropriate” preseason training session.

Keith Titmuss had a seizure after an indoor cardio session at the Sea Eagles’ northern beaches base in November 2020.

The 20-year-old was transported to Royal North Shore Hospital but died five hours later having experienced a cardiac arrest as a result of exertional heat stroke.

NSW Deputy State Coroner Derek Lee said an attempt by the club’s staff to treat Mr Titmuss for hyperventilation by using a paper bag had been misguided.
