RACGP sounds alarm over Fed Govt’s scope of practice review

The RACGP is worried that the Federal Government is barrelling towards a UK-style health system based on its scope of practice review, which will start issuing policy options next month.
The review, called ‘Unleashing the Potential of our Health Workforce’, published its first so-called issues paper in January this year, which hinted at changes like allied health referrals to non-GP specialists.
In an update to members this week, review leader Professor Mark Cormack said he would set out “potential policy solutions” in a second issues paper, scheduled for release in April.
But the RACGP is already alarmed.
