GPs in Albury-Wodonga have demanded sacked surgeon Dr John Stuchbery be reinstated, describing his dismissal as a “devastating loss” to the community.
Dr Rebecca McGowan says GPs were left reeling when they received a letter from Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) telling them not to refer to the breast and cancer surgeon because his contract was ending.
“That letter came out of the blue,” she tells 6minutes.
“It was printed out and left on the table in our staff tearoom.
