A GP-turned-cosmetic surgeon whose patient became critically unwell following liposuction has been banned from performing any further procedures pending an investigation.

Dr Daniel Aronov entered the media spotlight last week after a woman was taken to Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital on 16 November, the day after the operation.

The hospital has confirmed the 42-year-old patient arrived by ambulance in a critical condition due to post-operative complications and needed to be intubated.

When she was admitted to ED, her haemoglobin was 54g/L and pH was 6.8.
