Doctor charged with rape has emergency suspension overturned

The Medical Board of Australia’s emergency suspension of a doctor charged with rape has been quashed, after a tribunal declared it was not in the public interest.
The anaesthetist was granted bail in 2020 after being charged rape and recklessly causing injury to a woman he met online.
He admitted to having sex with the woman in 2018 but argued it was consensual.
When the charges were laid initially, the board decided to take no action.
