An investigation has found no evidence a senior doctor tried to coerce a registrar to backdate a death certificate, after he raised concerns a man may have been alive when transferred to a hospital morgue.

Palliative care patient Kevin Reid, 55, died in Rockingham General Hospital, south of Perth.

He was transferred to the hospital morgue on 5 September last year, before a formal death certificate examination, according to a WA Corruption and Crime Commission inquiry report tabled in the WA Parliament.

The following morning the registrar was asked to certify the man’s death.
