A judge has jailed a doctor over a series of sexual assaults and rapes across seven years, and questioned AHPRA’s responsibility to the women he sexually assaulted.

Last month, a jury found Dr Shafiul Milky guilty of 15 charges involving the sexual assault of six women between 2012 and 2019.

County Court of Victoria judge Felicity Hampel, who questioned if his later victims could have been spared, jailed Dr Milky for 14 years and six months, with a non-parole period of 11 years.

At the time of the offending, he was employed at Peninsula Family Medical Practice in Ocean Grove in Geelong and National Home Doctor, a network of home visiting doctors.
