Doctor reveals friends are hitting her up for dexamethasone

Associate Professor Rhea Liang is calling on medics not to prescribe the latest COVID-19 'miracle cure'

First it was friends asking for prescriptions for chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), says Queensland surgeon Associate Professor Rhea Liang.

Now they’re requesting dexamethasone to ward off COVID-19.

In a series of tweets Professor Liang, of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, describes the fine line doctors tread when friends ask for scripts, and she calls on colleagues not to give in to such requests.

“The delicate dance of trying not to offend ‘friends’ asking for help to access dexamethasone,” Proefssor Liang said in a tweet.
