Doctor slammed over ‘jokes’ about violence

Social media storm erupts over Italian anaesthesiologist’s conference slide that depicted domestic violence

A doctor who compared finding an airway to locating the female G-spot during a conference presentation, and followed it up with a photo of a man’s hands around a woman’s neck, has been slammed on social media.

Dr Massimiliano (Max) Sorbello, an anaesthesiologist at the University of Catania, Italy, created a storm of protest following his presentation at the World Airway Management Meeting in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 14 November.

In a talk on the role of cricoid pressure/positive pressure ventilation, he started by equating finding the airway to finding the G-spot, Medscape reported.

Later in the presentation, he showed a photo of a man’s hands around a women’s neck while discussing the two-handed technique for cricoid pressure.
