Doctor tells college to ‘focus on core business’ and stop Voice to Parliament support

An emergency doctor has accused the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine of straying beyond its remit by supporting the Voice to Parliament — in an editorial in the college’s own journal.

Perth ED specialist Associate Professor Stephen Macdonald says the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine’s (ACEM) position paper on the Voice “contains grand assertions” that it will improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ health outcomes.
