Doctor who reported semaglutide compounder ‘disappointed’ it took news exposé for TGA to act

The doctor said GPs expected the TGA would have more checks for compounding pharmacies.

A doctor who received warm compounded semaglutide that she refused to inject says it is disappointing it took an ABC exposé to jump-start a TGA investigation into the pharmacy.

The Queensland doctor, who asked not to be named, was prescribed compounded semaglutide by her GP, which she received in by mail.

But it arrived warm with melted icepacks, raising enough questions for her to decide against injecting it.

AusDoc did not receive a response from the company about the doctor’s situation.
