Doctor with non-practising rego caught working at GP clinic: AHPRA
It is unclear how long Ramchander Karingula worked as a GP without his practising licence before he was caught.
A former doctor has pleaded guilty to working as a GP without a license to practice and using another doctor’s provider number to write prescriptions for two patients.
Ramchander Karingula had been a registered doctor for 14 years before moving to non-practising registration in 2019, after he failed a registration condition requiring him to complete his RACGP fellowship exams.
But in 2023, AHPRA discovered that he was treating patients as a GP at a practice in Bunbury, south of Perth.
He had seen two patients, who had attended together, and written three prescriptions for them in the name of a registered doctor, the watchdog said this week.
