Doctors called back into action for vax rollout

Barely a week after being thanked for their support during COVID-19, retired doctors are being called back into service, this time to help out with the vaccine rollout.
AHPRA has announced it is reopening the pandemic sub-register for doctors for a further 12 months following a request from the Australian Government.
Former doctors, along with other retired midwives, nurses, pharmacists and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioners are being asked to provide additional support for the COVID-19 vaccination rollout.
AHPRA CEO Martin Fletcher said the practitioners could opt out of the scheme and would be restricted to providing vaccine delivery support.
