Doctors find AIÂ scribe frees up 25% of time and doubles note-taking speed
A leading children’s hospital in the UK is set to implement AI scribe technology across its outpatient services, to enable staff to spend more time with patients and reduce appointment times.
The rollout follows a study that demonstrated the technology helped doctors free up nearly 25% more time for patient care.
The trial, led by Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and sponsored by the NHS, took place across nine NHS sites in London between June 2024 and February 2025.
The hospital is now planning to roll out the AI scribe technology by the end of the year, following the study involving nearly 17,000 patient interactions at various sites, including hospitals, GP practices and mental health services.
