Doctors ‘intimidated’ to prioritise ambo patients ahead of sicker ED cases to improve ramping figures

A leading emergency doctor claims medical staff are being “intimidated” to treat patients who arrive by ambulance over more urgent cases waiting in the ED to improve ramping figures.
The allegations by Dr David Pope, who works at Royal Adelaide Hospital and is the SA Salaried Medical Officers Association president, have already prompted the SA Government to order a clinical review.
