Doctor’s lost diamond ring turns up in scrubs 160km away

Dr Radhika Ramasamy thought the ring would have been crushed in laundry machinery.

An anaesthetist has been reunited with her diamond ring, after it was accidentally left in her scrubs pocket, commercially laundered and discovered by another doctor, 160km away.

Dr Radhika Ramasamy from West Suffolk Hospital, in Bury St Edmunds in the UK, removed her ring to perform a spinal anaesthetic on a patient, popping it into her scrubs pocket.

She meant to place it back on her finger, but was called away to a fresh procedure, and forgot all about the jewellery as she finished her shift, back in mid-December.

The scrubs — and the ring — were dispatched to a laundry service.
