Doctors report bizarre new coronavirus symptom

The patient presented to his GP with borborygmus and was investigated for cancer before being diagnosed with COVID-19: Danish case

Borborygmus is the latest bizarre symptom of COVID-19 to present in general practice, based on a report from Denmark.

Doctors from the General Medical Hospital in Voborg are highlighting the case of a man in his 70s whose symptoms initially sparked concerns about malignancy with his COVID-19 infection an incidental finding.

The man first contacted his GP in mid-March complaining of a nine-day fever that was gradually decreasing.

He’d also experienced musculoskeletal body aches, influenza-like symptoms and headache, but these had subsided by the time he presented to the GP, the doctors wrote in the BMJ.
