Doctors seething over ‘disrespectful’ pay offer

Visiting specialists in SA have been offered lower annual pay rises than nurses and paramedics

SA visiting medical specialists are angry nurses and paramedics have been offered more generous pay deals than them, saying it shows doctors are undervalued.

The SA Government has offered visiting medical specialists a 1.5% annual pay rise over three years.

On the same day as this offer came through, nurses were given annual 3% increases over three years, as well as two $1500 cash payments, $2.50 daily car parking and free public transport.

Paramedics also received a rise of 2.5% backdated to 2018, and 2.5% over the next three years.
