Doctors take aim at ‘anti-virus’ activewear

Doctors have slammed activewear brand Lorna Jane over claims its latest line of leggings have “anti-virus” properties, a statement that is being investigated by the TGA.
Earlier this month, the Australian company launched a range which it claimed had been treated with “non-toxic-mist” to kill viruses and bacteria.
However, after criticism from leading doctors, the company tweaked its message to state the garments are “anti-bacterial:.
The treament, “LJ Shield Technology” is said to “terminate” bacteria on contact with the fabric, preventing them from reaching the wearer.
