Doctors have described the challenging conditions inside Melbourne’s worst-affected aged care facilities.

They have shared how some patients were left dead in their beds for six hours at one home.

In addition, many coronavirus-positive residents were also suffering from dehydration, malnutrition and pneumonia, one told The Australian.

As of Friday more than 900 active COVID-19 cases had been connected to aged care facilities in Victoria, with many residents transferred to public and private hospitals for care.
