Does Better Access live up to its name? We want to know what you think
If you agree with the Federal Government-commissioned review, the Better Access scheme is going well.
The 337-page report said the system of GP mental health plans and subsidised psychological care was resulting in better outcomes for patients.
But it seemed Minister for Health Mark Butler was not entirely convinced by the review’s findings.
He rejected its recommendation to let patients access 20 subsidised treatment sessions a year, cutting the limit to 10 sessions a year from the start of 2023.
