The Albanese Government’s GP enrolment scheme began in 2023 with MBS funding for longer telehealth consults to entice GPs to join.
Around 80% of GP practices — 6500 clinics — and 2.8 million patients have been registered.
However, Labor’s $8.5 billion election commitment of population-wide bulk-billing incentives stole whatever attention MyMedicare had.
